A little bit about me...
I've been an animal portrait artist for many years. My two great passions have always been animals and drawing, so I've been combining the two for as long as I can remember. A few years ago, I took some time out to return to college. I took a Fine Art degree, experimenting with all sorts of other mediums, techniques and subjects. I then took a PGCE in adult education, and spent another few years lecturing part time at my local art college. But I've now returned to my first love - drawing animals!
I live, with my lovely hubby, Phil, two crazy dogs - Maggie and Poppy and 9 rescued cats - Ruby, terrible twins Louie and Midge, Merlin, Rosa, Ivy, Alice, Tilly and baby Pixie, in the sleepy little seaside town of Silloth, on the beautiful north west coast of Cumbria.
When I take on a commission, the most important thing to me is to capture the character and essence of the animal, and I work very hard to achieve this. The positive responses from customers, and knowing I have given them something that will make them smile every time they look at it, are what makes my job so enjoyable!
